Heating and Cooling Services in Lakeland and Polk County

Technician with a flashlight checking an outdoor AC condenser beside a house

Our heating and cooling services in Lakeland cover the five jobs that make up almost every call in a Central Florida home: getting the cooling back, getting the heat back, coming out fast when the house is unsafe to stay in, replacing a system that has reached the end, and keeping a working system from failing in the first place. Each one has its own page with the details, the common causes and the questions people ask on the phone.

How every job starts

Whatever the job, the first step is the same. You book a service call and hear its price before anyone drives out. The tech tests the system from the thermostat to the outdoor unit, explains what failed and puts the repair price in writing. Nothing gets fixed until you say yes.

The five services

  • AC repair. Warm air, short cycling, ice on the lines, water by the indoor unit, an outdoor fan that won’t spin.
  • Heating repair. Heat pumps blowing cold, backup heat strips that never switch off, gas furnaces that will not light or stay lit.
  • Emergency repair. No cooling in a summer heat wave or no heat on a freezing night, with the after-hours rate told to you first.
  • System replacement. A new air conditioner, heat pump, air handler or mini-split sized to the house, with the permit pulled and the old unit hauled away.
  • Tune-ups and maintenance plans. A spring cooling visit and a fall heating check, booked for you once a year on a plan.

Repair first, replace when it is time

Most calls end with a repair. A capacitor, a contactor, a clogged drain line or a dirty coil is a short visit and a modest bill. Replacement only comes up when the system is old, the repair is a big share of the cost of a new one, or the same problem keeps coming back. When that happens you get both numbers on the same page and the choice stays yours.

Built around a Florida year

Cooling runs here from March to November, and the heat comes on for only a few weeks a year. That shapes how we work. Spring is for cooling tune-ups before the long summer, summer is for fast repairs, and the fall check makes sure a heat pump or furnace that sat idle for months still lights and switches over when the first cold front comes through.

We work in Lakeland, Winter Haven and Plant City. The service area page explains what changes from town to town.

Each service, in short

  • Close-up of a technician testing an AC condenser coil for leaks

    AC repair

AC repair in Lakeland for warm air, a unit that won't start, iced lines or water by the indoor unit, with a written price before the fix.

Most cooling breakdowns here come down to a handful of parts: a capacitor, a contactor, a clogged drain line, a dirty coil or a refrigerant leak.

  • Gloved hands servicing the controls of a gas heating unit

    Heating repair

Heat pumps blowing cold, furnaces that won't light and strip heat that never shuts off, diagnosed and repaired with a written price first.

Central Florida only needs heat a few weeks a year, which is why a system that sat idle all summer often fails on the first cold night.

  • Technician in work coveralls sitting at the back of an open service van

    Emergency repair

No cooling in a July heat wave or no heat on a January cold night: same-day visits when we can, with the after-hours rate told to you first.

When the house is too hot or too cold to stay in, the call goes to the front of the list. You hear when a tech can be there and what the visit costs before you book it.

  • Heat pump beside a brick house in a green garden

    System replacement

A new air conditioner, heat pump or air handler sized to your home, with a written quote, the permit and the old unit hauled away.

When repairs keep coming back or the system is near the end of its life, we size the new one to the house, not to the old unit's label.

  • Technician reading refrigerant gauges at an outdoor AC unit

    Tune-ups and maintenance plans

A cooling tune-up before the long Florida summer and a heating check before the first cold front, so small problems are found early.

A tune-up cleans and checks the parts that wear: coils, drain lines, electrical connections, the blower and the safety controls.

How a visit works

From your call to the system running again, in this order every time.

  1. Book a service call

Call, text or use the form and tell us what the system is doing. You get a time and the service call price before anyone drives out, and on a hot day with no cooling we try for the same day.

  2. The tech finds the cause

We test the whole system, indoor and outdoor, not only the part you noticed. You hear what failed in plain words, and you can see the part or the reading that shows it.

  3. You get a written price

The repair price is in writing before any work starts. When the system is old enough that replacing it makes sense, you get both prices on the same page and decide for yourself.

  4. We fix it and run it

The repair gets done, the system runs through a full cycle and the tech checks the temperature at the vents before leaving, so you know it works before we go.

Questions about our services

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask us during your service call.

  • Which service do I book if I am not sure what is wrong?

Book a service call and describe what the system is doing. The visit starts the same way whichever service it leads to, and the tech tells you which one fits, or that nothing needs fixing yet.

  • Can one visit cover a repair now and a replacement price for later?

Yes. Ask for both and the quote shows them side by side. Plenty of owners make the repair this summer and keep the replacement figures on file for when the system is closer to the end.

  • Do you work on any brand of equipment?

We service the common brands of central air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers and gas furnaces found in Central Florida homes. If a part has to be ordered from the maker, we tell you how long it will take before you agree to the repair.

  • Do you do commercial systems or refrigeration?

No. We work on homes only, with split systems, heat pumps, packaged units, mini-splits and furnaces. For a store, a restaurant or a walk-in cooler we are glad to tell you who we would call.
