What we do, and what we don't

The same rules on every job, whether it needs a capacitor or a whole new system.

We do

  • Show you photos of every problem we find, and of the parts that are fine
  • Price the job line by line, in writing, before you decide anything
  • Pull the permit and book the inspections the work needs
  • Tell you when a repair will do and a new system can wait

We don't

  • Ask you to sign on the first visit
  • Start work before the price is agreed in writing
  • Waive, rebate or cover an insurance deductible
  • Speak for you to your insurer or settle your claim

Licenses and certifications, explained

What the words on an HVAC company's van or website mean for you, and what to ask before you sign.

  • Florida mechanical or air conditioning contractor license

Florida licenses the contractors who install and replace heating and cooling systems through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Ask for the license number and look it up on the state site before you sign.

  • EPA Section 608 certification

Federal law requires anyone who handles refrigerant to hold this certification. Ask whether the tech who works on your system has it.

  • Liability and workers' compensation insurance

These cover damage to your property and injuries to the techs while they work. Ask for a certificate sent to you by the insurer, not a photocopy.

How a visit works

From your call to the system running again, in this order every time.

  1. Book a service call

Call, text or use the form and tell us what the system is doing. You get a time and the service call price before anyone drives out, and on a hot day with no cooling we try for the same day.

  2. The tech finds the cause

We test the whole system, indoor and outdoor, not only the part you noticed. You hear what failed in plain words, and you can see the part or the reading that shows it.

  3. You get a written price

The repair price is in writing before any work starts. When the system is old enough that replacing it makes sense, you get both prices on the same page and decide for yourself.

  4. We fix it and run it

The repair gets done, the system runs through a full cycle and the tech checks the temperature at the vents before leaving, so you know it works before we go.

What you get on every visit

The same plain rules whether the fix is a small part or a whole new system.

  • AC, heat pump and furnace repair
  • Service call price before we come out
  • Written price before any repair
  • Repair and replacement side by side
  • Tune-ups twice a year on a plan

5 out of 5 stars

Filled in the form one evening and had a text back within minutes. The tech came the next morning, found a failed capacitor and had the AC running in under an hour.

Another company told us we needed a whole new system. These folks found a clogged drain line and a dirty coil, cleaned both and it has cooled fine ever since.

Our heat pump blew cold air on the one freezing night of the year. They came out that evening, told us the after-hours price on the phone and had the heat back on before bed.
